The Positively Joy podcast is taking a powerful new direction and diving into a subject that touches so many hearts: relationships. I’m Yvette Walker, creator and host. God has placed it on my heart to share my own journey through a difficult divorce and my path back to joy—a path where God became my everything. I remember the overwhelming hurt and confusion, but I also remember the freedom that came through Jesus. In this new season, we’re going to get real. We’ll talk about the deep pain, the loss, but also the healing and liberation found in Christ. After 13 years of marriage to a man with bipolar depression, I was left broken, questioning my worth. But Psalm 91 became my anchor. “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge.” It was through faith, self-discovery, and God’s protection that I learned joy isn’t tied to life’s circumstances—it’s a choice. By leaning into His promises, I found love for myself, peace in His presence, and joy in the everyday moments I once overlooked. I invite you to join us on this journey. Share it with those who need these conversations. Positively Joy is evolving, and we’re stepping into something even greater.

S.2 Ep.32 Podcasters join me to talk about the controversial Super Bowl Jeep ad
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Today, two Christian podcasters join me to talk about a TV ad that raised a lot of controversy: Jeep’s Super Bowl ad with musician Bruce Springsteen that talked about unity and featured a little church in the middle of the USA. What did you think about the ad? Was it Christian? Patriotic? Offensive? Or just right?
Tim Winders of Seek Go Create and David Weaver of Revitalize Kindness join the Positively Joy podcast to tackle an important issue. Is Unity the same for everyone?
If you haven’t already seen the ad, watch the ad here (which has been removed because of a past DUI by the singer).
You can also watch this conversation on YouTube here.

S.2 Ep.15 Part III of the "pep talks" of Jesus: The Mount of Olives
Sunday Nov 08, 2020
Sunday Nov 08, 2020
Welcome friends! I began a three-part lesson on Jesus as a leader, beginning with the idea that like all leaders, Jesus knew how to speak to his followers, especially his inner circle, his apostles. Call it a “pep talk” if you will.
In part one, we talked about the Sermon on the Mount, aka The Beatitudes. In part two, we looked at two of his parables, the Prodigal Son, which is really more about the Heart of the Father than the Son, and the Sower and the Seed, which dealt with spreading the message.
Today, I want to end this series with Jesus during Passion Week on the Mount of Olives, with the 12 apostles. This was the last “pep talk” Jesus would give to the apostles. You might not think of this as a pep talk, knowing what was about to happen to Jesus. But like a good leader, he needed to prepare his team for what was to come.

Two women, one younger, one older, both giving birth to purpose.
Next week, we finish our series of "Jesus gave pep talks": part 3, his revelations on the Mount of Olives.

Monday Oct 26, 2020
Last week, we started a three-week journey on Jesus as a leader and speaker with the Beatitudes, also known as the Sermon on the Mount. This week in part two, I want to discuss with you Jesus’ leadership through his parables.
Jesus’ parables describe the kingdom of God. Sometimes the parables are fairly straightforward, and sometimes more complicated to understand. Jesus leads as he educates. I'll explore two parables, one about the message of God, and one about the love of God.
And, Angel McCoy follows the message with a beautiful reading from Psalms.
